The focus of the 2023 Calendar was Kit Homes that remain in the village. Kit homes were popular during the first half of the 20th century. There were twelve homes that were identified, as being produced by Sears, Aladdin, and Montgomery Ward. Much research was done by the society members to verify that these homes were built from kits. We thank the owners for the information they were able to pass on to us.
Community Yard Sale
The society participated in the village wide yard sale on August 13th. It was a fun day for all. The funds from the sales were directed to the Pioneer Restoration Project.
Spring Car Cruise
The car cruise was held on June 11th at Nativity Catholic Church on South Lake Street. Over 100 cars turned out. It was a beautiful summer day and everyone enjoyed the social event while listening to music from the 50's and 60's. Thank you Larry Jones, Ron Snizek and Dennis Burdue for organizing this successful event.
Fall Car Cruise
Members voted to hold a Fall Car Cruise on September 24th at the South Amherst Middle School. What started out as a cloudy damp day day ended with the sun shining and the parking lot full of cars. Again, thanks to Larry Jones, Ron Snizek and Dennis Burdue.
